Vantzou soaks a variety of rural field recordings, wispy synths, and hushed instrumentation in a thick broth of plate reverb and fine-grained EQ to create mesmerizing ambient pieces that are designed to mimic the behavior of mushrooms. Listening to this is a lot like peering through a microscope--she curates and magnifies the tiniest of sounds, carefully coaxing out their delicate textures and slipping them into the light.
